Big Boize BBQ Sauce, Cass Rowland, III
Big Boize BBQ Sauce: “It’s Just Good.” Cass Rowland, the founder of Big Boize BBQ Sauce, has combined the taste of the South with the taste of the North to create an award-winning BBQ sauce that has been catching fire in our area. Already selling in four area Walmart stores, Rowland has just penned an agreement with Giant Foods to offer his sauce in sixty-two Giant supermarkets. With a tireless work ethic, Rowland has personally demonstrated his sauce in specialty stores, supermarkets, trade shows, and area food fairs, all while maintaining his day job as a carpenter in the Coatesville School District. And, Rowland continues as Associate Pastor at the Main Line Christian Assembly in Malvern.
Of course, Rowland will not be staying in his day job for long, as he has contracted a Co-Packer to package Big Boize BBQ Sauce. Although Rowland still wears all of the hats of an entrepreneur, managing the sales and marketing, distribution, artwork, website, and shipping, he hopes to hire employees for many of these activities. Although just founded in 2016, Big Boize BBQ Sauce’s rapid growth prompted Rowland to seek help from SCORE. His SCORE mentors Rich Gauger and John Ponticello have been advising Rowland on operations, retail sales, and financing. Rowland couldn’t have found a better mentor in Rich Gauger, who was formerly President of US Foods (Connecticut Division).
As Rowland seeks to secure significant financing to expand his operation, he continues to genially demonstrate and sell his sauce. You can see Rowland in numerous videos on his website (https://www.bigboizebbqsauce.com/about-us/), happily singing a song while barbecuing. His enthusiasm for his sauce and cooking is self-evident and his smile is quite infectious, as he proves to his viewers that “It’s Just Good.”
