(Frederick, MD) — SCORE, the national organization devoted to helping small businesses, has recently designated its Mid-Maryland Chapter as a Platinum Chapter. This designation recognizes the highest commitment and achievement by a chapter to performance and quality outcomes for its clients, local communities, and volunteers. Based in Frederick, Maryland, the Mid-Maryland Chapter serves the Frederick, Carroll, and Washington Counties.
SCORE chapters across the country undergo an annual evaluation to assure their commitment to SCORE’s mission and strategic goals. This year’s evaluation, amid a surge in volunteer requests from small businesses reeling from the pandemic, the Mid-Maryland Chapter met and exceeded the organization’s qualifications for Platinum status. Capital Area SCORE District Director Ed Coleman recently presented the certificate of achievement to Mid-Maryland SCORE Chapter Chair Charles Thomas and Vice Chair Angela Baker.
“Mid-Maryland SCORE stepped up in a big way to assist small businesses in this chaotic business environment,” said Coleman. “And this annual evaluation reflects that high level of commitment.”
“We are honored to receive such recognition from the national organization,” says Thomas. “Our volunteers have a passion for business and are committed to the success of our local small businesses, particularly in this time of need.”
